If you’re like me, your angsty teenage years were spent brooding about major clothing labels using child labor or other random topics (because you had nothing be free time to be a “deep thinker”).  You also spent a lot of time neglecting the popular things out there, and diving deep into the wierd world of horror films.

Okay, so this description really only applies to me.

However I did know of a pretty small clique of people familiar with some of the same horror as I was.  They read a lot of Fangoria and raided old video stores for VHS movies that would probably never be transfered to DVD.  In my mind, we knew so much about this little genre that really only becomes popular one month of the year.  In my quest to watch the old, the obscure, the films that would make even the most disconnected from the real world “squick”, something amazing happened.

I saw this trailer for a Brian Yuzna film called Worst Case Scenario.

I didn’t care what the premise was…shit, when I first saw this trailer it didn’t really look like there even was a premise.  Just loads and loads of awesome WWII zombies storming a beach.  Could they be all German?  Could there be American soldiers in there too?  Oh god, this score to accompany this trailer sounds sick!  I can’t wait to see this.

And then it vanished…for years.  No news, no updates, hell I even forgot what this trailer was called, and that it had ever existed until a week ago when I saw the poster on Netflix for a movie called Deathwatch.

Excited beyond belief I threw this on, only to be disappointed by finding out it was some old Andy Serkis film he didn’t play Gollum in.

Still curious, I started digging for info.  Desperate to find out what has happened to this film…then I found this.

Holy crap!  For real!  Another teaser trailer…and dated 2008!  That’s pretty recent, maybe there is some work being done on this movie and it’s just been stuck in pre-production!

But sadly, after watching this trailer and getting my hopes up the trail goes cold again.

I was able to find the Gorehound site and saw this news from way back in 2009…

Sad and defeated I went to close out my browser, when in the corner of my YouTube page I see a cool looking, old-time footage video, and the title says Frankenstein’s Army.

Wait, we know that font at the end!  That’s the font from Worst Case Scenario! 

When you swing out to frankensteinsarmy.com it is nothing more than a little looping video with a flag that says Frankenstein’s Army, a coming soon disclaimer, and an email address.  Doing a little more searching Twitch Film has an article about this very movie…dated from this year!  Most important in the whole article is this…

Because Richard Raaphorst is bring exactly that with his upcoming action-horror effort Frankenstein’s Army.

Guess who was set to direct Worst Case Scenario?

It looks to me as if this movie is still alive and kicking, just under a different name.  The best part about it, shooting is set to start this September outside Prague.

Did anyone other than me remember this trailer?  Are you as amped as I am to finally see some incarnation of this film?!
