Darren Aronofsky Working On Another Comic Book Film

By now you are aware that Darren Aronofsky (director of The Wrestler, Pi, Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan) is the helm of the new Marvel film, The Wolverine.  But did you know that he was planning another comic book film?

This wouldn’t be his first dabble in comics, since in 2005 when Brad Pitt left the project The Fountain, he had the script turned into a comic book before Hugh Jackman signed on and the film was made.  It would seem that he has been pitching this new story to studios since 2008 but no one is biting..

Question: Do you ever feel like realizing your vision of something like the Batman story that you were working on as a comic book?

Darren Aronofsky: Well, we’re actually doing one. It hasn’t really been announced, I don’t know if I should give you the scoop! But we’re getting there. We’re doing a comic book of a script that’s really hard to make and we’re going to do a comic version first and see what happens.

Hmmmm. what could it be?  Recently he has given us info on making a variety of movies like Machine Man, the Tiger, Jackie, Serena, a reboot for Robocop, and Breaking The Bank. However, none of those are coming to fruition yet.  Could it be one of those or perhaps something new?
