I know One Sheet has discussed this movie in the past on one of his entries, and ever since I’ve been biting at the bit to see more. In case you missed it, here are the trailers…
Towards the end of World War II the Nazi scientists made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity. From a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late ‘45 to found the military base Schwarze Sonne (Black Sun) on the dark side of the Moon. This base was to build a powerful invasion fleet and return to take over the Earth once the time was right.
Now it’s 2018, and it’s the time for the first American Moon landing since the 70?s. Meanwhile the Nazi invasion, that has been over 70 years in the making, is on its way, and the world is goose-stepping towards its doom. The three main characters of the story are Renate Richter (Julia Dietze), Klaus Adler (Götz Otto), and James Washington.
If you haven’t seen this trailer yet, let me be the first to apologize for showing it you.
This god aweful trailer pretty much solidifies what movie fans have been thinking. Tim Burton is getting tired. Or rather, fans are getting tired of Tim Burton.
More importantly, I think fans are tired of the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp/ Helena Bonham Carter mashup. Why continue going to see movies with the same exact cast in each and every movie? But that isn’t the point.
When Dark Shadows aired back in the late 60s, it was a dark soap opera…and Barnabas Collins sure as hell wasn’t the comedic protagonist that Depp has portrayed him to be. Barnabas was an undead man, shrouded in mystery, living in the decrepid old house where his old family used to occupy. He struggled with not having them find out he was a vampire, as well as keeping the Collins’ off track of his vampiric killings. It was only the audience who knew he was a vampire.
Also, this whole 1970s vibe is just way to over the top. It sets the wrong feel for the show. Let’s take a quick look at the original opening of the series:
It’s dark, eerie, and sets a tone for the entire episode that you are about to watch. In the new trailer they play “bang a gong”. With that type of music I’m surprised that Mike Meyers isn’t playing the role of Barnabas and Eddie Murphy playing all the other roles, with the addition of a few Klumps.
And this reveal of Barnabas with this spring raise and Jesus arms. FUCK THAT. Check out the original Baranbas reveal:
Sure it’s cheesy as hell, but what a wicked reveal. Just showing the pure terror on that guy’s face and then seeing a ringed hand grab him by the neck! Suspense! It’s classy.
That’s what this movie lacks, class. It’s a mockery of the original series.
I think that the only thing that I actually enjoyed in this trailer was the exteroir shot of Collinwood (the mansion the Collins’ live in). Looks awesome.
From the look of this trailer, Burton has got it all wrong. This will be another abomination of the Dark Shadows series, just like Dark Shadows The Revival was in the 1980s.
My recommendation: add the original series to your instant and just watch them all. Don’t give Burton your money.
These are awesome short films… which makes me announcing that PES has been picked to helm the new Garbage Pail Kids Movie a little more bearable . Yes, no one wants a new Garbage Pail Kids movie. No one wanted the last one, but it came out any way. But if it’s gonna be made regardless, I want someone who is awesome to do it.
The Simpsons parodies the opening of Game of Thrones.

Two decades after the release of Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, Bill & Ted 3 is still coming together, albeit rather slowly. Back in April, star Alex Winter tweeted that he’d received a finished draft of the script, but now, nearly a year later, the project doesn’t seem to have moved forward much.
Asked for an update on the third film, Keanu Reeves told The Independent, “Yeah, we have a script. We’re trying to put it together. It’s a good script too.” But the Wyld Stallyns reunion may not happen for some time yet. Earlier this week, Winter tweeted, “Script done? Check. -We love it? Check. -Green light? Working on it!” [Collider]

Man Sues AMC theaters for too high of prices for concessions.

Wish I was kidding. Joshua Thompson of Detroit, Michigan was so enraged that he had to shell out $8 for concession food stuffs that he started a class action law suit. Yeah, the prices are high, but something you need to realize is that theaters make almost ZERO money from movie ticket sales. The price for renting a film is astronomically absurd. But this is how it works. In order for the theater to turn a profit and continue to show these movies they need to make money in other ways, similar to how music stores sold candy, shirts and toys, trying to make up more profit. Damn, maybe I should sue Little Caesars for charging 2 Fucking Dollars for crazy bread when just a year ago it was only $1! C’mon, everybody, let’s go burn them down!

Holy living shit… the kids from Magic School Bus grew up to be the kids from Captain Planet.

I know I’ve said it before and I will say it again, Holy shit, I have to see this movie. Now that we’ve had a whole year with the trailer just making us salivate for more, we finally get a taste for the first 10 minutes of the film that opening March 16, 2012.
Yes, Junk will be going to see this in the theater. The only problem is that no theaters in this state that I can find are opening the film. No word on the FP showing anywhere in Illinois. Way to fuck up again, Illinois.
In case you haven’t seen it, check out the trailer here or below.
